As of presstime, Williston Town Councilman Milton Widener has neither accepted nor rejected his re-appointment as the new Fire Chief for the town of Williston.  Town Administrator Chris Carter said he believes Widener has been on vacation. A decision is expected in the near future.  The motion to re-offer the position to Widener was approved by the town council at the regular April 11 meeting after the council rescinded their original vote to offer Widener the position.  A second motion offered the job to Widener on the condition he resign as a councilmember.
